(BIN) -- A divided Senate on Thursday derailed Democratic legislation providing $21 billion for medical, education and job-training benefits for the nation’s veterans, as the bill fell victim to election-year disputes over spending and whether to slap sanctions on Iran. Republicans and Democrats blamed each other for turning the effort into a chess match aimed at forcing politically embarrassing votes.
How can the Senate decide to to send billions to other countries, yet can’t provide benefits to the men and women who fight for our country?
This has gone too far, America. It is ok for our men and woman to go fight for other countries, but can’t get the benefits they deserve in their own country. We need to rally together for our Veterans and let the legislators know that we support our men and woman in the military.
