State Dept. Spokesperson Grilled: Why Would President Skip So Many Intel Briefings?

A Breitbart report claims President Obama has missed more than half of his daily intelligence briefings, known officially as the Presidential Daily Brief (PDB).

The report cites a Government Accountability Institute (GAI) report which states that Obama attended attended 42.4% of his PDBs in his first term and 41.3% in his second.

The report comes on the heels of President Obama's statement to "60 Minutes" that the intelligence community underestimated the threat from ISIS.

According to the Daily Beast, defense officials were "flabbergasted" at Obama's remark during the interview.

On "Fox and Friends" today, Brian Kilmeade challenged State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki on the president's claim and his attendance at the briefings.

Psaki maintained that the administration, including the president, has been "watching" ISIS grow for "some time."

Psaki argued, though, that it was "impossible to predict" the Iraqi security forces would lay down their arms and not fight back against ISIS.

"That's an incredibly hard thing to predict or track," said Psaki, explaining that is why the U.S. has stepped up support to the Iraqis in recent months.

Kilmeade asked why the president would miss so many PDBs during a time of increasing terrorist activity.

Psaki said she has "no validation" on the statistics cited by GAI, noting that there are many ways in which the president can receive the PDB.
