State Department Faces New Lawsuit After Continued Failure to Release Information on Hillary Clinton

(IJReview) -- Ahead of Hillary Clinton’s presumed presidential run, the Associated Press, along with some news outlets, have made numerous Freedom of Information Act requests involving Clinton’s tenure as Secretary of State.

But for some reason, the State Department has yet to oblige these requests, even missing self-imposed deadlines to turn over the materials. One AP request has been outstanding for four years, and many other requests are older than a year.

The delayed responses have led to a lawsuit filed today by political advocacy group Citizens United, alleging unlawful action against the State Department for refusing release Clinton’s flight records they originally sought five months ago.
