The GOP-controlled House voted this week to move forward with a select committee on Benghazi, but Nancy Pelosi said on Friday that two of the families have expressed to her their wishes that they not go down this road again with yet another hearing about that fateful night when they lost their loved ones.
Pelosi decried the committee as a “political stunt,” and said the only reason Darrell Issa isn’t chairing this one is because he’s “damaged goods.”
She then said, “It’s very sad. Chris Stevens, Glenn Doherty, Sean Smith, Tyrone Woods. Two of their families have called us and said please don’t take us down this path again. It’s really hard for them, it’s very sad.”
