MSNBC Guest Calls Children Killed In Newtown “20 Little Martyrs” For Libs Anti-Gun Effort…
Patricia Maisch, one of the people who helped disarm Jared Lee Loughner after his 2011 shooting spree in Tucson, Arizona, appeared on MSNBC on Tuesday to mark the two year anniversary of that tragic attack. She twice told MSNBC anchor Thomas Roberts, were it not for the “20 little martyrs” who died in the attack on Sandy Hook Elementary School, new legal restrictions on gun ownership may never have materialized.
Roberts outlined the groups and individuals demanding Washington lawmakers act to restrict firearm and ammunition ownership in the wake of several mass shootings over the past two years.
“Do you think that we have moved forward and do you feel confident enough that Congress is gonna do something to take action now,” Roberts asked.
“I don’t think we’ve moved forward nationally,” Maisch said. “We’re doing our best to move forward. 20 little martyrs in Newtown had the effect that Christina Taylor Green’s dying on a sidewalk didn’t have, and that Veronica Moser Sullivan dying in a theater didn’t have.”
“It’s a shame that we had to get to the 20 little martyrs that anybody started paying much more than local attention,” Maisch concluded.
