A Facebook user writing under the pseudonym Rick Libertas Semper claims that he was discriminated against at a Wisconsin area Pizza Hut for wearing military patches on a leather jacket.
“Semper” hit his Facebook to tell the tale of trying to sit down and eat some lunch, and being told that he needed to remove his jacket, because Pizza Hut does not allow gang symbols in their restaurants.
Yes, you read that right, the manager thought his military patches were gang symbols.
“I was wearing my black leather jacket that has 4 patches and the back of the jacket is embroidered. One patch says USMC, the other patch says Marine Combat Veteran, the 3rd patch is the unit patch for 3rd Marines 3rd Battalion and there is a patch of the US flag on it. The back of the jacket is embroidered with the Marine Corps Emblem,” Semper wrote on his Facebook page.
