(NEW YORK POST) -- A Brooklyn elementary school teacher was arrested on Thursday for paying a teenage boy for oral sex, police sources said.
Waris Grant, 37, who works as a fourth grade teacher at P.S. 256 in Bedford-Stuyvesant, was arrested at the school he worked at around 12:30 p.m. after a police investigation into his allegedly after-school activities.
As a city employee, Grant earns over $60,000 a year working for the 327 student elementary school, which serves Pre-K through sixth grade.
A police source says the victim is a 16-year-old boy, and is not a student at P.S. 256.
Grant was charged with promoting prostitution, criminal sex act, and acting in a manner injurious to a child, according to cops.
He has been working at the elementary school for over four years, according to the Department of Education website.
Cops did not release the victim’s name due to the nature of Grant’s charges.
