Ammo Prices To Skyrocket: EPA & Military Pushing Green Bullets & Ban On Lead...
(OFF GRID SURVIVAL) It may soon become impossible to buy traditional rounds of ammo, as the Feds, State Governments and even the military all push for a ban on lead ammunition.
Earlier this month we reported on EPA regulations that led to the closure of the last primary lead smelter in the United States, a move that is already starting to drive up ammunition prices and is just the latest in a long string of attempts to regulate traditional ammunition out of existence.
Attempts to ban lead bullets are nothing new, but the push seems to be picking up steam and is starting to affect the markets. This year California became the first State to completely ban lead ammunition, and at least two dozen other states are looking at similar legislation.
What does this mean for gun owners?
Well if they control the ammo, or push the prices so high that no one can afford to buy it, they essentially achieve their gun control agenda. If you want to get an idea of what’s coming, just look at what they did to the incandescent light bulb.
Come January 1st, 2014 you will no longer be able to buy traditional incandescent light bulbs; instead, you will be forced to pay 5 – 10 times the price in favor of “green” alternatives. You can thank the federal government, who under the leadership of President George Bush banned the bulbs that have been in use for over a hundred years.
If the federal government can regulate what type of light bulb you can buy, what do you think will happen once they push their same “green” agenda on the ammo markets? Because of the law that was passed back in 2007, the phase out almost immediately caused the price of a simple light bulb to skyrocket. Now that there are no legal alternatives, expect the prices to go up even more; and once the feds sink their teeth deeper into the ammunition marketplace, expect the same thing to happen there as well.
