An elderly man was attacked inside his home on 11th Avenue in Chickasaw Monday morning around 11:30 a.m.
"I walked in and I saw Mr. Jordan laying there on the other side of his chair. He was bloody in his face and he was gasping for air and I turned around to the young man and I said what have you done," said a neighbor.
The neighbor walked in as three teens were attacking 86-year-old Carrol Jordan. He's in intensive care at USA Medical Center. His face is bruised and he has multiple stab wounds on his back.
"If you see him you'd understand how bad it is," said Donald Johnson, a family member.
Tonight Jordan's left fighting for his life. Family members say this was a robbery gone bad.
"They said he was stabbed 5, or possibly 6 times," said Johnson.
"I stayed on the phone with the operator and she told me how to treat Mr. Jordan. Got a towel and pressed on his forehead because it was bleeding. He kept saying I've got to get up, I've got to get up, so I helped him get up into the chair," said the neighbor.
While they wait and closely monitor his condition at the hospital, family and friends are hoping someone with information will come forward. They're praying for the best but preparing for the worst.
"He was on a ventilator for a while and now he's off but he's still not doing well they're still giving him oxygen and pain medicine and things like that," said Johnson. Read more via WKRG...
