Time, Nat Geo push 'astonishingly perverse covers'
“Why Amnesty Makes Sense” reads the cover of a June 2007 issue of Time magazine, teasing an immigration story inside. “Is Your Baby Racist?” asks a 2009 Newsweek cover. And “Gender Revolution” blares a January 2017 National Geographic cover featuring a “transgender child.”
These three magazine covers, and many others like them, have something in common: They all reflect the increasingly irrational “progressive” worldview, according to journalist and best-selling author David Kupelian.
“Most ‘mainstream media’ editors and journalists today are left-wing progressives and therefore share the deep progressive contempt for traditional white Christian America and its values – which they consider ignorant, bigoted, racist, patriarchal and anti-science,” said Kupelian, who serves as WND’s vice president and managing editor.
Breitbart editor Raheem Kassam tweeted out an image of the three aforementioned magazine covers, along with five others, earlier this week, writing, “Time to start questioning what is going on in the minds of these editors …”
His tweet has since gone viral.
Alex Newman, an international journalist and educator, attempted to explain what is going on in the minds of these editors. In his view, they have sold out both their morals and their country for the sake of advancing a dark agenda.
“Yes, some of them may be loony ideologues – useful idiots as Lenin would have called them – who truly believe this drivel they publish,” Newman told WND. “But I remain firmly convinced – and I think more and more evidence confirms this every day – that they are all reading from the same script and following the same subversive agenda.”
That agenda, according to Newman, is the globalist and internationalist agenda – the idea that nation-states should give way to regional governments and ultimately a global government. To advance this agenda, the establishment must undermine national cohesion and the concept of unique nations. One way it does so is by importing huge numbers of unassimilable people from foreign cultures into America, which fundamentally alters what it means to be an American.
A June 2012 Time magazine cover reflected this spirit, teasing a story about illegal immigrants with the headline, “We Are Americans * Just not legally.” Similarly, a June 2001 Time cover proclaimed, “Welcome to Amexica.”
In fact, Time was embracing America’s demographic shift as far back as November 1993, when the cover of a special issue highlighted “The New Face of America: How immigrants are shaping the world’s first multicultural society.” The cover featured an image of a woman’s face generated by a computer from a mix of several races.
National Geographic magazine celebrated the changing demographics in Europe on its October 2016 cover, depicting a Muslim family with the headline, “The New Europeans: How waves of immigrants are reshaping a continent.”
Kupelian says this sort of attitude is what’s been leading many parts of Europe toward national suicide.
