Teen girls posted cryptic Snapchats before their deaths
Two bodies found near an Indiana creek have been identified as a pair of teen girls who went missing on Monday.
Liberty German and Abigail Williams, both 13, disappeared after going hiking, leaving behind eerie Snapchat photos as clues.
German posted a photo of Williams looking somber on a railroad bridge in Delphi, Indiana. The Snapchat post marked the last time either girl was seen alive, Time reported.
Another photo shared that afternoon showed the abandoned bridge where the girls were dropped off. They were reported missing after they failed return to the bridge as planned.
Their bodies were found in a wooded area on Tuesday, about three-quarters of a mile from the bridge, according to police.
Authorities have not released the cause of their deaths, citing the ongoing investigation.
“The investigation is still in its baby steps, so to speak, and we don’t want to put that information out yet,” said State Police Sgt. Kim Riley at a Wednesday press conference.
