Russian golf star arrested for ‘beheading’ mom in horrid scene
Russia’s top golf star has been arrested for allegedly beheading his mother in a sickening murder before admitting to the killing to his horrified wife and sister.
Artem Nesterov, 37, called his family to admit to slaughtering his 66-year-old mother, Lyudmila Nesterova, in a horrendous slaying.
Russian media released a harrowing photo of the woman’s lifeless body with her bloody head nearby, in the village of Yerino, near Moscow.
According to police reports, Nesterov – the first Russian golfer to be awarded the title of master of sports – visited his mother after a fight with his wife.
The golf coach will now spend up to two months in custody while the case is built against him.
RBC news agency quoted a judicial source saying: “Shcherbinsky District Court of Moscow has put the defendant in custody for two months charged with the murder of a woman born in 1951.”
Nesterov became Russia’s leading golf hero after the sport was introduced to the country following the fall of communism in 1991.
The Soviet swinger relocated to the warmer climes of South Africa in 2005 but is now facing a much harsher move into a Russian prison.
