North Korea: Trump’s threats are ‘the sound of a dog barking’
NEW YORK POST – DAVID K. LI
North Korea’s top diplomat lashed out at President Trump on Wednesday, saying US threats against the kooky hermit kingdom are no more than “the sound of a dog barking.”
Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho, in New York for the UN General Assembly, dismissed Trump’s vow to “totally destroy” North Korea if Pyongyang ever posed a direct threat to America.
“If he was thinking he could scare us with the sound of a dog barking, that’s really a dog dream,” Ri told reporters outside his hotel.
Ri was invoking a Korean proverb that says a procession will keep moving forward, even if a dog were barking at it, according to the Yonhap news agency. He also employed a Korean idiomatic phrase, a “dog dream” which is one that makes no sense.
