Father and Son Die After Bizarre Head-On Collision With Each Other
Too many families know the tragedy of a loved one dying in a car crash, but the horror faced by the Brasher family in Bankston, Alabama, is one that’s almost beyond imagining.
According to Fox News, 50-year-old Jeffrey Morris Brasher and 22-year-old Austin Blaine Brasher were killed during an early-morning crash on Feb. 18, when the vehicles they were driving collided head-on a county.
AL.com reported that Jeffrey’s 2006 Ford pickup hit his son’s 2004 Chevrolet pickup a little after 4 a.m. Police reports conclude that neither party was wearing seat belts and that alcohol played a role in the crash.
Jeffrey died at the scene, while his son was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead..
Details of the crash were not immediately released as troopers investigated exactly what happened.
According to Inside Edition, the Brasher family is trying to pick up the pieces and come to terms with the incident.
Family member Pam Brasher posted a statement on Facebook. “Our hearts are broken while our faith remains in Him. There are no words to describe the heartbreaking loss of losing both Jeff Brasher and Austin Brasher,” she wrote.
“There is peace in knowing they are together, but our hearts are heavy knowing that they are no longer here with us,” the post concluded.
The incident serves as a reminder not only to be careful while driving, especially in early hours of the morning, but also to pray for the victims of fatal crashes and their families. Above all, don’t drink and drive.
We keep this family in our prayers as they navigate the next chapter of their lives.
