Chris Christie Booed After Catching Foul Ball at Mets Game

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie received a round of boos after he caught a foul ball during Tuesday night’s New York Mets game against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Mr. Christie was sitting in the third row behind the first base line at New York City’s Citi Field when he caught a foul ball with one hand from Cardinals second baseman Paul DeJong. Loud boos could be heard from the crowd as the Republican governor got out of his seat and handed the ball off to a young fan.
Mr. Christie is America’s least popular governor with a disapproval rating of 69 percent, according to a poll released Tuesday by the Morning Consult. He sparked controversy recently when he was photographed lounging on a closed public beach during a state-government shutdown over Fourth of July weekend.
