Engine of plane bound for Buenos Aires goes up in flames at JFK Airport (PHOTOS)
The Buenos Aires plane’s engine caught fire during takeoff at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York. The flames have now been extinguished and no injuries reported, according to officials.
The media reports that fire trucks were called to the scene after “flames shot out from a plane’s engine.”
The New York City Fire Department has confirmed the incident on Twitter.
It later tweeted that the fire has been brought under control.

Steve Coleman, the spokesman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, has confirmed that a pilot of an Argentina Airlines flight reported the engine fire late Thursday night while the plane was preparing for takeoff, AP reports.
The plane was headed to Buenos Aires. No injuries have been reported.
