Watchdog: Taxpayers Spent $96 Million on Obama Travel
By SARAH WESTWOOD | Washington Examiner --
Taxpayers spent more than $96 million on President Obama and his family's travel during his eight years in office, a total that could well exceed $100 million before the end of Obama's presidency.
The president's high-price trips included a $1 million jaunt to the Everglades for a global warming speech, a $222,000 ski trip in Aspen taken by his wife and daughters and a $450,000 flight to a family vacation in Martha's Vineyard this summer, conservative watchdog Judicial Watch announced Thursday.
The group had filed Freedom of Information Act lawsuits for requests it made to the Secret Service seeking documentation of the Obama family's travel.
