One of the major joys of Donald Trump’s campaign is watching the mainstream media — especially CNN — go absolutely bananas when anything contradicts the narrative they’re weaving. This is especially true when it comes to minority supporters of Trump.
The latest example of what the media will do to silence black supporters of Trump came on Friday, when CNN host Don Lemon was interviewing Omarosa Manigault — a famous contestant on “The Apprentice” and a supporter of Donald Trump — and Kellyanne Conway, president of one of the political action committees supporting Ted Cruz.
Lemon was all set for a bit of finger-wagging at Omarosa for the ongoing Twitter war between Cruz and Trump over their wives, as well as her support forTrump. However, Omarosa wasn’t going to take the bait.
After Lemon called the Twitter war “over the top” and appeared to blame Trump for the ugliness, Omarosa refused to let him control the narrative without mentioning where the Twitter war really began.
“Well, I don’t think we should start there,” Omarosa told the CNN host. “I think that we should start with the fact that a super PAC associated with Cruz started to attack Donald Trump’s wife –”
That’s when Lemon went apoplectic.
“No no no, I’m not going to let you do that, I’m not gonna let you do that,” Lemon said. “Omarosa, stop!”
How dare you, Omarosa? When Don Lemon tells you to listen, you listen. You listen good.
Lemon wasn’t finished chastising them.
“Cut the mic!” Lemon demanded. “We’re not doing that! I want everyone on this panel to answer the question directly. Then I will –”
“You can ask questions, but you can’t answer them, Don,” Omarosa said.
That’s when Lemon decided he was taking his ball and going home: “OK, we’ll be right back. We’ll be right back.” Cut to commercial.
You may not be surprised to learn that this isn’t Don Lemon’s first time making a horse’s posterior of himself live on CNN over the issue of Donald Trump. Last August, he verbally taunted a Hispanic Trump supporter who had also appeared on “The Apprentice,” asking her how she felt being in the minority of Hispanics who support Trump’s view on illegal immigration.
“I don’t agree that I’m in the minority,” Katrina Campins told Lemon, “because the last time I was on CNN speaking about this as a Hispanic woman, so many Hispanic women tweeted me and said, ‘Thank you for speaking for the real Hispanic woman.’”
And that’s when the segment ended abruptly:
It’s somewhat hilarious to see that, even in this day and age, Don Lemon continues to believe that his position allows him to decide which facts are relevant and which aren’t. It’s even more hilarious to think that he somehow thought he was somehow coming out ahead by throwing a tantrum live on CNN when someone dared to contradict him.
Keep at it, Don. You’re just winning more votes for The Donald.
