This image of a five-year-old boy who was rescued from a destroyed building after an airstrike in Aleppo, Syria is a heartbreaking visual about the true horrors of war.

The boy was eventually identified as five-year-old Omar Daqneesh. He's on the road to recovery thanks to the "extraordinarily brave" doctors.

Three people were killed and at least 12 people were injured in the bombing, which is believed to have been conducted by either Russian forces or by Assdad's forces. Aleppo has been ravaged during Syria's civil war, and thousands of people have been killed.
