A Donald Trump campaign event on Monday in Florida with Sarah Palin was abruptly canceled after her husband, Todd Palin, suffered a serious snowmobile accident.

Todd Palin was hospitalized after the Sunday night accident, according to reports, and Sarah Palin is returning to her home.

"Governor Palin wishes her best to Mr. Trump in the upcoming primaries," said a statement from the Trump campaign announcing the cancellation.

News of the accident and cancellation broke as Trump appeared with New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie in North Carolina for a separate event.
