Popular YouTube Gun Channel ‘Hickok45’ Suspended Over Gun Video
A popular firearms channel on YouTube was temporarily suspended by Google Wednesday after allegedly violating the company’s terms of service.
According to Hickok45, the Tennessee-based gun enthusiast with more than 1.7 million subscribers on YouTube alone, Google suspended the channel without warning after his latest video was automatically posted to the Google+ social media platform.
“Apparently, Google + is more sensitive about firearms related postings and such. I never use Google+ and did not even realize the videos were being posted over there, I guess,” he stated.
Prior to his post, fans of the Second Amendment advocate began flooding YouTube representatives with demands that the channel be reinstated, making note of the increasingly hostile stance from social media outlets towards firearms supporters.
“I‘m sick and tired of companies being ‘sensitive’ about gun topics,” one Facebook user said. “Facebook (advertising), Microsoft, Google, everyone is ‘Sensitive’ about our 2nd amendment rights while themselves leaning heavily on the 1st amendment.”
After several hours offline, the YouTube channel was reinstated shortly after 12:30pm CST without any immediate explanation. Infowars was unable to reach Hickock45 for comment at the time of publication.
