Pokemon Go Robbery Victim Pulls Gun and Shoots Back at Armed Robbers
A pair of hoodlums were out on the prowl on Monday in Las Vegas, looking for easy pickings.
When they rolled up on a group of six people at a public park east of downtown at 4 a.m., the thieves thought they’d found their mark. It was dark, secluded, and this group was staring down at their phones.
The driver eased the SUV into close range, and the passenger pulled a gun and demanded their valuables. But it didn’t go the way the would-be robbers had planned.
One of the Pokemon players was licensed to carry a concealed handgun. He drew his gun and shot the robber, who shot back.
Las Vegas police spokeswoman Laura Meltzer said a Pokemon player and the armed robber were both hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.
Charges will be filed against the armed-robber and the driver of the SUV. It wasn’t immediately clear if the Pokemon player who was shot in the stomach was the one who shot back, or one of the other victims.
