New Store For Adults Who Want To Dress Like Babies Outrages Locals
A new store targeted at adults who want to dress like babies, is causing a stir in the suburbs of Chicago.
Tykables, which recently opened in Mount Prospect, Ill., caters to adults who want to go back to the simplicity of childhood, according to the store's website.
“Each product we create, every event that we do, and every day of our lives we strive to express the innocence of childhood back to our adult lives,” the store says online.
The store sells adult-sized diapers, and offers “discreet boxes” for shipping, “which do not say Tykables or Diapers.” While the store has an adult-size crib, rocking chair and other toys, only adults can use the facility, John-Michael Williams, who opened the store in April, told WGN-TV.
Earlier this week at a Mount Prospect village board meeting, dozens expressed worry over whether the store will affect property values or inadvertently attract children from a nearby school, AP reported.
