Kentucky Congressman Wants to ‘Amexit’ From the United Nations
Following the non-binding referendum vote for the United Kingdom to leave the European Union, one Kentucky congressman is rekindling the fight for America to opt out of the United Nations.
The bill, which was introduced in Mar. 2015, is entitled the American Sovereignty Restoration Act. The act would terminate the country’s membership in the international co-operative organization headquartered in New York City; it would, of course, sever the agreement regarding that Manhattan headquarters.
It would also terminate America’s participation in the World Health Organization, as well as a host of environmental, educational, peacekeeping, diplomatic, scientific, and cultural efforts.
