Chicago braces for violence as judge orders release of another cop shooting video
Chicago was bracing for more trouble after a judge Thursday ordered the release of another video showing a white cop gunning down yet another black teenager.
Federal Judge Robert Gettleman gave the green light to distribute footage of 17-year-old suspected car thief Cedrick Chatman being fatally shot after city lawyers dropped their opposition to releasing the two-year-old video.
It was not clear when it would be released to the public.
Chicago was hit with protests and calls for Mayor Rahm Emanuel's ouster last year after footage showing the deadly police shooting of 17-year-old Laquan McDonald was finally made public.
Gettleman said he was "disturbed" that the city fought to keep the Chatman video under wraps and dismissed arguments that its release would taint potential jurors in a wrongful death lawsuit against the city.
