Jay Leno comes back swinging hard at Hillary, Bill and Bernie in brutal guest monologue
Making a rare return appearance, former “Tonight Show” host Jay Leno delivered a guest monologue on the show he hosted for 22 years and wasted no time hitting on the 2016 presidential election.
Ever the equal opportunity offender, Leno mocked Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, with an emphasis on the latter’s chilly relationship with Fox News host Megyn Kelly. Oh yeah, and he got a dig in on Bernie Sanders’s age.
The show, which returned to New York after comedian Jimmy Fallon took the reins, was shooting on the road in Los Angeles on Wednesday when Leno appeared.
The former host set up one joke about Hillary by saying he received a robo-call from former President Bill Clinton asking if Hillary can count on his support.
“Count on me?” Leno asked. “She can’t even count on Bill. Don’t drag me into your marital problems, pal.”
The comedian commented on Hillary’s email scandal, saying the candidate called it “an honest mistake,” before observing that “the only time people in Washington are honest is when they make a mistake.”
