ISIS are planning an 'imminent' attack on Jewish children and are targeting nurseries, schools and youth clubs according to reports.

Terrorists have advanced plans to target children in Turkey as intelligence officers told Sky News they were investigating a plan to attack a synagogue.

The information reportedly came from six ISIS soldiers who were arrested in the southern Turkish city of Gaziantep.

An intelligence source told Sky: "In light of these circumstances, extraordinary security measures are being taken above and beyond the high alert level already in place by the Turkish police, as well as vigilance within the Jewish community.

"Undercover and other covert counter-terror measures are being implemented around the clock. This is a more than credible threat. This is an active plot."

Sky added that the most likely target was a synagogue in Istanbul's Beyoglu district, which has a community center and a school attached to it.
