EPIC: Gowdy Explains to Obama Admin How a Subpoena Is Supposed To Work
Many Americans have been angry and frustrated that no real, substantive action has been taken against former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and the State Department for the deaths of four Americans in Benghazi on Sept. 11, 2012.
Rep. Trey Gowdy, in a Facebook post today, began to shed some light as to why no justice has been served and it’s not pretty for the Obama administration.
The South Carolina Republican, sometimes known as “the Bulldog” for his interrogation style, explained that, “the State Department has withheld documents and information about Benghazi and Libya from the American people’s elected representatives in Congress.”
“Whatever the administration is hiding, its justifications for doing so are imaginary and appear to be invented for the sake of convenience,” Gowdy wrote.
Gowdy called out the White House “stonewalling.”
“That’s not how complying with a congressional subpoena works, and its well past time the department stops stonewalling.”
Gowdy then shared the news release sent out by the U.S. House of Representatives Select Committee on Benghazi, which he chairs.
The release adds this particularly damning information:
“The Obama administration’s serial delays in producing documents total more than 10,000 days, the equivalent of over 27 years. Since (and including) New Year’s Eve, the committee has received more than 6,500 pages of documents from the State Department, including over 400 just last month.
If anyone is “tired” of hearing about Clinton’s email scandal, comments like Gowdy’s should serve as a reminder of why it is so important not to let her off the hook and to keep seeking justice.
Four Americans died in Benghazi and the blatant obfuscation by Clinton, the State Department and the entire Obama administration regarding the investigation of their murder is nothing short of reprehensible.
If Hillary Clinton has nothing to hide here, why won’t she release all relevant information — including emails — in order to put this issue to rest so that the families of the four Americans killed in Benghazi can gain some closure?
If nothing else, hopefully voters realize Clinton is not the person Americans want getting that “3 a.m. phone call” of trouble facing the United States.
As Donald Trump says, she just might not answer the phone.
