Carson Back in Headlines, Issues Shocking Demand After Trump-Khan Feud
When CNN brought Dr. Ben Carson on to discuss calls by Gold Star families for Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump to apologize for his comments to the Khan family, the network never dreamed he would say that it was the Khans who had to apologize instead.
Yet, that’s just what he did in a Wednesday appearance on Wolf Blitzer’s “The Situation Room.”
When asked if Trump should apologize to Khizr and Ghazala Khan, the parents of Army Capt. Humayun Khan, Carson didn’t think the issue was as one-sided as Blitzer had made it out to be.
“I think, you know, we should clearly move on. I don’t think it would be harmful if they apologized to him and he apologized to them, but I don’t see that happening,” Carson said.
“Why should they apologize to him?” Blitzer retorted.
“Well, for one thing, you know, if you accuse someone of something that’s not true, it usually is a reasonable thing to acknowledge that,” Carson said.
