BREAKING -- 'Major Explosion' by 'Improvised Explosive Device' in NYC... Dozens Injured... Developing...
The NYPD has confirmed that multiple people were injured Saturday evening in an explosion that rocked lower Manhattan.
“The explosion happened at 135 23rd St. between Sixth and Seventh avenues,” reports PIX11.com.
As many as 26 people are reported to have been injured.
The NYPD Couterterrorism Unit is also on the scene, responding to an explosion allegedly large enough to blow out the windows of a nearby building.

The explosion follows the detonation of a pipe bomb along a 5k marathon route for veterans in Seaside Park, New Jersey.
