At least a half-dozen small earthquakes recorded at Mt. Hood, Ore., since Sunday evening


GOVERNMENT CAMP, Ore. -- A swarm of small earthquakes has been detected on Mount Hood, about 10 miles east, southeast of Government Camp.

The first was about 6:40 p.m. Sunday. Others came Monday at about 1:50 a.m., 2 a.m., 3:40 a.m., 5:20 a.m., and the latest about 5:50 a.m.

The quakes were magnitude 1.5 to 2.2. They were shallow, one to five kilometers in depth.
