ALERT: ISIS Message Reveals CHILLING Plans They Have In Store For 4th Of July Weekend
A counterterrorism group revealed several locations the Islamic State group threatened to attack over the Fourth of July weekend.
The SITE Intelligence Group reported on its website that the terror group said there could possibly be a “device” planted at Los Angeles International Airport, New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport or London’s Heathrow Airport.
It also said there could be attacks on planes leaving Heathrow bound for the U.S.
The SITE group has tracked and analyzed global terrorism for almost 20 years, and the group’s director, Rita Katz, has been recognized as one of the most knowledgeable experts in the field. FBI Director Robert Mueller has acknowledged Katz for her outstanding assistance to the bureau in connection with some of its investigations, so authorities have taken this warning seriously.
The FBI on Thursday said they had not received any significant threats for one of America’s most busy travel weekends, where some 43 million people will travel across the weekend.
“However, law enforcement and members of the public must remain vigilant,” an FBI spokeswoman said, according to the U.K. Daily Mail.
“The FBI asks members of the public to maintain awareness of their surroundings and to report any suspicious activity to law enforcement,” she added.
Conservative Tribune sister site Western Journalism noted that Reuters had cited a government document stating that mass transit systems should remain very watchful as Americans gather to celebrate Independence Day.
A lack of known threats obviously does not mean that an attack won’t be carried out. Lone wolf attacks are becoming a serious concern to authorities, as no threats or warnings were issued before the most recent terror attacks in Orlando or Turkey.
However, earlier this week, the Islamic State group released a video threatening Las Vegas and San Francisco.
Authorities are preparing for possible dangerous situations as millions of Americans look to celebrate America’s independence, and Americans should remain vigilant as they celebrate their hard-earned freedom.
But celebrate it we must, regardless of threats from the barbaric followers of fundamentalist Islam. The exercise and commemoration of those freedoms represent an important part of how we win the war against radical Islamic terror.
