Houston - Houston police say the active shooting in West Houston is over with one suspect dead and a second wounded and in custody.

Reports of shots fired near Memorial and Wilcrest Drives started coming in to 911 just after 10 this morning.

Investigators say the two suspects are either white or Hispanic males.  One victim was found shot to death in a vehicle. Three others were wounded by the gunmen.

Police say a fire at nearby gas station was sparked by a bullet fired during the shooting.

In a news conference, interim Houston Police Chief Martha Montalvo said no officers were injured although the shooters did fire several times at a police helicopter.

Police asked residents to shelter in place as they searched for the shooters, but that has now been lifted. No motive is known for the shootings.

Police said several streets in the area would be shut down as they continued their investigation.
