Black Lives Matter protesters at Georgia Southern University staged a walk out after a Facebook post by another student sparked controversy.

The campus NAACP lead the walkout but said it wasn’t a direct response to the post, but about starting a movement on campus.

“This is not necessarily in response to the comments the young lady made its to show that the black student population does matter,” said Jamar Boyd the 2nd Vice President of the campus NAACP chapter.

This all started when Emily Faz shared an article about Mizzou protesters being upset that the media was more focused on the Paris terror attacks than their cause:

The Post Reads:

“I’m just going to leave this here. I swear if I see this BS at Southern, I’ll make you regret even knowing what a movement or a hashtag is, and you’ll walk away with your tail tucked. This whole black lives matter movement is misguided and out of hand. Maybe no one likes or takes y’all seriously because no one can see past you egotistical b***s***.

Some people might just look past it, but fair warning I’m am [sic] not one. All lives matter, that has always been the case, and you are part of the problem if you think other wise.”

The article Faz attached was from The Washington Times:

Black Lives Matter and Mizzou protesters on Twitter said their struggles with racial oppression were being “erased” by the overwhelming news coverage of the killings of 129 people at the hands of Islamic State extremists.

The response from protesters was immediate and vitriolic, with veiled threats to Faz’s safety:

#EmilyFaz got something coming to her and it ain't no blessing

Somebody should've warned this #EmilyFaz chick… don't come for Black GSU unless we send for you 😊👑👊

The protesters went so far as to post Emily’s personal information all over Twitter, suggesting people harass her and her employers.

Protesters reportedly caused Faz to lose her job at Wild Wings Cafe and are calling for her expulsion from GSU (Southern, not State).
