Walmart Will No Longer Be Selling These Weapons in their Stores
It wasn’t politics that made Walmart decide to stop stocking these controversial items in their stores: It was just slow sales.
The world’s largest retailer announced this week that it would no longer be stocking certain AR-15 rifles, some shotguns, and other high-powered rifles in its stores. A representative told Quartz that Walmart will be replacing its AR-15 and MSR products “with shotguns and other hunting weapons.”
Between 2012 and 2013, AR-15s were the weapons of choice for mass-shootings in Connecticut (Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown), Colorado (Aurora movie theater), and California (Los Angeles Airport).
