The Judge Gave Theater Killer James Holmes 3318 Years In Prison. Then He Had One More Thing to Say.
After a 15-week-long trial showcasing 2,700 pieces of evidence and 300 witnesses, Aurora, Colorado theater killer James Holmes has been sentenced to 12 consecutive life terms in prison.
ABC News reports Judge Carlos A. Samour Jr. gave Holmes the maximum sentence possible — 3,318 years behind bars — but the judge had something to say to Holmes before the killer was dragged away to the lock-up:
“The defendant does not deserve any sympathy. And for that reason, the court imposes the maximum sentence it can impose under the law.”
But ABC News reports Samour wasn’t done yet. Not even close.
