Ted Cruz Reveals Why People Demanding Kim Davis Resign Are Massive Hypocrites

By Warner Todd Huston for Western Journalism

Texas Senator and GOP presidential candidate, Ted Cruz, issued a powerful statement on the day that Kentucky county clerk Kim Davis was arrested for following her religious conscience by refusing to issue marriage licenses to gay couples. In his statement Cruz revealed why those attacking Davis are huge hypocrites.

Immediately after federal authorities took Rowan County clerk Kim Davis into custody, Cruz issued a statement on his campaign website to tell supporters exactly where he stood on the issue.

Calling the arrest an act of “judicial tyranny,” Cruz took those who opposed the county clerk to task for their hypocrisy.

“For every politician–Democrat and Republican–who is tut-tutting that Davis must resign,” Cruz said defiantly, “they are defending a hypocritical standard. Where is the call for the mayor of San Francisco to resign for creating a sanctuary city–resulting in the murder of American citizens by criminal illegal aliens welcomed by his lawlessness?”

Cruz also wondered why these self-interested politicians aren’t calling for the arrest of Obama on similar grounds.
