Sinkhole Opens Up in Florida.... Home Now Evacuated... DEVELOPING STORY...
SEFFNER, Fla. (WFLA) – Four homes were evacuated in Seffner on Friday night after a large hole opened up in the ground. Hillsborough County Fire Rescue responded to 11918 Clay Pit Road at about 6:45 p.m.
When firefighters arrived at the scene, they found a hole on the lawn that measures about 22 feet wide and 27 feet deep.
Code enforcement officers arrived on scene and evacuated four homes as a precaution. They said the possible sinkhole is “not an immediate threat” to the neighborhood because it’s between homes.
This hole is two miles from a sinkhole that killed a man in 2013.
