Secret Service Officer Assigned to White House Fatally Shot in Southwest D.C.

A 30 year-old Secret Service officer was found shot to death in southwest Washington DC on Tuesday.

The officer was assigned work at the White House. He was shot several times and found unconscious when police found him.NBC Washington reported:

A Secret Service officer was killed in Southwest D.C. Tuesday, and police are investigating the case as a homicide.

The victim was identified as Secret Service Uniformed Division Officer Arthur Baldwin, 30. He was shot multiple times in the 4700 block of 1st Street SW at about 2:50 p.m.

D.C. police say officers were flagged down shortly after the shooting and found Baldwin unconscious with multiple gunshot wounds.

He was rushed to a local hospital, where he died.
