'Pure Hell': Hundreds of Southwest Flights Delayed Across Nation
Hundreds of Southwest Airlines flights were plagued by "technology issues" Sunday, the airline said, causing long delays and massive lines at airports from Los Angeles to Washington, D.C.
In a statement posted on the airline's website, Southwest pleaded with customers to arrive two hours before departure. As of 7:30 p.m. ET, the glitch — which affected the airline's mobile app, website and reservation centers — had delayed 450 flights out of 3,600, the statement said.
The cause had not yet been determined, the statement added, and airline workers were being forced to manually issue tickets.
