Now That Obama Is Admitting Syrian Refugees, This Graph Shows Where Refugees Have Been Placed
The United States has capped entrance to those who have officially been awarded refugee status to 70,000 per year. Since October of 2014, 1,300 of those refugees were admitted from Syria.
Now, the administration has announced that up to 10,000 more Syrian refugees will be allowed into the country.
Although refugees have been placed all over, some states have received far more than others. Via data compiled by the U.S. Office of Refugee Resettlement and published by the Washington Post, this graph shows the spread of refugees across the U.S. between 2013-2014.
