'Like a sci-fi movie' Thousands of huge jellyfish wash up on beach in mass invasion

In a scene resembling an alien takeover, the largest jellyfish in British waters covered the Cefn Sidan sands in South Wales.

Britain's warm summer weather has been blamed for the beached swarms.

The jellyfish found on the Carmarthenshire shore were 16 inches in diameter but they have been known to reach up to 35 inches.

Beachgoers have been advised not to touch deluge of barrel jellyfish.
