Compounding the toll her email scandal has already taken on her once-presumptive Democrat presidential primary bid are reports that Hillary Clinton is struggling to shore up the support of women – particularly young adults – on a large scale.

“We’re not necessarily going to vote for someone just because they’re a woman,” one female college student said of other women in her generation. “A lot of us are just trying to look at the candidate.”

She is not alone, The Hill’s Amie Parnes reported, citing one political strategist who acknowledged Clinton’s perceived shortcomings despite personally supporting her as the party’s nominee.

“To them it seems obvious and indisputable that if Clinton doesn’t win,” the source said, “some other woman will – and soon.”
