Here’s What We Know So Far About the Two Victims Who Lost Their Lives in Today’s Shooting

WDBJ7 reporter Alison Parker and cameraman Adam Ward were tragically shot and killed during a live broadcast at 6:45 this morning outside of Roanoke, Virginia. Police believe they have identified the suspect as a “disgruntled employee” and are in pursuit of him.

Adam Ward

Adam attended Salem High School and graduated from Virginia Tech in 2011. In December, he proposed to his girlfriend Melissa Ott:

Alison Ward

Alison grew up in Martinsville, Virginia and attended Patrick Henry Community College and James Madison University, According to WDBJ.

Anchorman Chris Hurst confirmed this morning that he and Alison had been dating for nine months and talked about getting married. He described her as “the most radiant woman I ever met” in a series of tweets. You can read more about their story here.
