Check Out This Marine’s Crowdfunding Campaign to Help His Former Afghan Interpreter Reach America

It is an oft-said principle of the American military that no man gets left behind and, for one U.S. Marine, that applies to his Afghan friend and former interpreter who was forced to flee his country for aiding the United States during the 14-year war.

An investigation by Bill McMorris of The Washington Free Beacon describes the trials and career of former Marine interpreter Sami Kazikhani.

Kazikhani is one of the 2.5 million Afghans displaced by war, but he found reason to hope this month when one of his American colleagues, former Marine Sergeant Aaron Fleming, was moved enough by images from the migrant crisis to check in with his former interpreter.
