After outrage from slain NYPD officer Randolph Holder’s fiancee, as well as members of his family and the NYPD, the Rev. Al Sharpton announced today he would not be speaking at the funeral service as originally planned.

A career criminal gunned down officer Randolph Holder while he was on foot patrol in plain clothes with his partner in Harlem last week.

It outraged many of the rank and file at the department that the Baptist minister – who’s a constant NYPD critic – would be invited to deliver the eulogy at the funeral of a 33-year-old third generation cop.

Holder’s fiancée said he didn’t like Rev. Sharpton at all and she didn’t understand why he was chosen to deliver a eulogy, the Daily Mail reports.

The turn of events for Sharpton to not attend funeral comes a day after Mary Muhammad stated, in no uncertain terms, that Holder “despised the civil rights leader.”
