1,100 Nuns Are Dressing As Prostitutes Around The World. The Reason Why Is Incredible
An organization of nuns has stepped up in a big way to help put an end to human trafficking and the sexual exploitation of vulnerable women in the world, and how they are doing it is incredible.
A religious organization of sisters known as Talitha Kum has fielded 1,100 nuns into some of the most dangerous areas of 80 countries to help locate and free women and girls who have been sold off or impressed into sexual slavery. And one of the methods they use to infiltrate these horrible dens of crime is to dress like and pose as prostitutes themselves.
As Fox News reports, John Studzinski, the investment banker and philanthropist who chairs the group, said that the organization is also looking to expand their presence into 140 countries.
“These sisters do not trust anyone,” Studzinski said in a November 18 speech to the Trust Women Conference on women’s rights and trafficking hosted by the Thomson Reuters Foundation.
“They do not trust governments, they do not trust corporations, and they don’t trust the local police. In some cases they cannot trust male clergy,” he said. “They work in brothels. No one knows they are there.”
